RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Teachers have until this Friday to provide feedback on course content to the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). The survey covers English language arts and math content standards as part of the five-year cycle of standards review.

The survey is accessible online at dpi.state.nc.us.

According to DPI:

---------------------------------------------------

NCDPI State Board policy GCS-F-012 outlines the process for the review of academic content standards every five years.  This fall NCDPI begins the standards review process for the current North Carolina K-12 ELA and mathematics standards.

As part of the standards review process, NCDPI is collecting feedback on the ELA and math standards from stakeholders. Feedback will be compiled, and the input used by the State Board of Education Standards Review Committee as they conduct a comprehensive review of the standards.

The current ELA and mathematics standards will remain in place during the two to four year standards review process. Any changes to the standards that might result from the standards review process will be communicated well in advance of any implementation in the classroom.
