RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Politics and sports don't usually mix, but this week everyone was a Duke basketball fan at the North Carolina General Assembly.

Senate Minority Leader Dan Blue Jr.  (D-Wake) released the following statement about his alma mater.

“I’m honored today to be able to invite the Duke University Men’s Basketball team to the General Assembly to celebrate yet another NCAA championship under Coach Krzyzewski. As a graduate of Duke University, it is my greatest pleasure to take this opportunity to highlight the great success of not just a world class basketball team, but a world class University.

Under Coach K’s leadership, this men’s basketball program has now seen five NCAA championships, and maintains the most NCAA basketball wins in the nation. Duke University remains one of the nation’s best academic institutions, and its basketball program continues to have one of the highest graduation rates for its athletes. This program continually brings honor not just to students and alumni, but to the entire state of North Carolina."
