RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) -  The League of Municipalities is holding a local governance workshop in Pineville on Monday. The meeting begins at 10 a.m.

"With municipalities across the state facing the loss of privilege license tax revenue, the League will host the third in a series of regional meetings examining the future of municipal finance," reads the post on the website of the organization that represents the majority of the state's cities and towns.

"A Path Forward: Vibrant Cities Today and Tomorrow will include a presentation looking at the history of municipal finance and where cities and towns stand today following recent legislative changes affecting growth and revenues, as well as a panel discussion with municipal officials and others discussing their views on the pressures on property tax rates and municipal services, and related subjects."
