Union County Uses Grant To Open HIV Clinic For 5-County Area PDF Print E-mail

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Low-income residents in and near the Charlotte area will be able to access HIV services beginning this month at a clinic in Monroe operated by Union County.

The clinic begins operation this month and will be bi-monthly.

Residents in the North Carolina counties of Union, Gaston, Anson and Mecklenburg are eligible, as are residents of the South Carolina county of York.

Two case managers from the Division of Social Services will respond to client inquiries regarding eligibility determination for participation in the HIV clinic

The federal Ryan White Part A grant through the Mecklenburg County Health Department will help fund the services provided by the HIV clinic. Ryan White medical and support services are for people with HIV/AIDS whose income does not exceed 300 percentof the federal poverty guidelines.
