RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Official resolutions of support have begun to flow in from local government entities for a bond proposal recommended to go before voters by Gov. Pat McCrory.

According to the governor's office, The Albemarle Commission, the Eastern Carolina Council of Governments, the Mid-Carolina Council of Governments, the Mid-East Commission, the Upper Coastal Plain Council of Governments and the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments have all passed official resolutions in support of placing the bond proposal on the ballot in November.

The General Assembly hasn't yet decided whether to give a thumbs up to putting one or both bond packages before voters. As proposed, there are two packages at $1.5 billion each. One bond is targeted to roads, while the other is targeted to broader infrastructure needs.

No tax increase is needed to fund the bonds.
