RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Ask and you shall receive. Property owners in a neighborhood plagued by flooding have requested and received approval for a special tax hike.

In a presentation before the Currituck County Commissioners, resident Barbara Marzetti represented property owners and asked for a 5 cent tax hike per $100 in valuation.

According to outerbanksvoice.com, the homeowners have not been able to get the developer to address the problem.

A unanimous vote approved the special district.
