A trial in the alienation of affection lawsuit against former Fayetteville Mayor Marshall B. Pitts Jr. was scheduled to start this month but has been postponed.
 
The trial is to decide whether Pitts broke up a marriage. It's tentatively scheduled for Nov. 7 in Wilson, a Superior Court judicial assistant said Wednesday. It had been scheduled to start July 25.
 
The case was delayed because Pitts' lawyer, James E. Hairston Jr., had a scheduling conflict with a federal trial, the assistant said
