Housing Authority Of Winston-Salem Wins Federal Grant Print

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is awarding a $30 million Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant to the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem (HAWS) for a redevelopment project.
 
Senator Tillis sent a letter to Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson advocating for the grant and worked with the city of Winston-Salem to support the application for the grant.
 
“After working with Mayor Joines, the city of Winston-Salem, and the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Agency, I am proud we were one of four projects selected to receive funding for this grant that will allow the city to connect two important neighborhoods,” said Senator Tillis. “I want to thank Secretary Carson and President Trump for this $30 million grant that will help Winston-Salem bring the community together, provide a new elementary school, and develop much-needed affordable housing
