RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - As of Friday, August 17, North Carolina's ending cash balance was $1,794,923,437.44, according to State Controller David McCoy. The unreserved cash balance stood at $994,235,442.52.
In his weekly General Fund Cash Watch, McCoy reports the state began the week with a Monday, August 13 cash balance of $1,584,026,090.92.
The state added to that beginning balance tax and non-tax receipts totalling $385,915,158.95, and other receipts in the amount of $521,628,794.87.
Disbursements were made for payroll ($36,727,614.15); State Aid ($112,508,707.88); Medicaid/Other Provider Payments ($200,643,452.17); Tax Refunds/Distributions ($7,854,990.33); Debt Service ($315,916.25) and General Operating ($338,595,926.52).
Subtractions were made for cash reserved for a variety of needs: local governments sales and use tax payable ($271,096,829.68); other tax liabilities ($16,475,731.89); repairs and renovations ($89,320,365.00); savings ($418,812,335.00); disaster ($4,441,534.20); and JDIG ($541,199.15).
After subtracting reserved cash, the state's unreserved cash balance stood at $994,235,442.52.
