RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Saying the bill gives the state an economic development tool to help existing companies grow, Gov. Pat McCrory signed into law, modifications to the Job Maintenance and Capital Development Fund.

The governor signed Senate Bill 3 over the weekend at the Westeren Governor's residence.

According to the governor's office, the bill increases the JMAC appropriation by $10 million for a total of $79 million and  also incentivizes the conversion to cleaner burning fuels.

Critics of the bill say it amounts to corporate welfare and government picking winners and losers in the marketplace.
