RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - State Budget Director Lee Roberts has notified agency heads that the mileage reimbursement rate will increase to 57.5 cents per mile as of January 1.

In a memo, Roberts also asked department leaders and fiscal officers to continue using the 30 cents per mile rate for employees who choose to use personal vehicles on state business trips that exceed 100 miles roundtrip when a state vehicle is available.

"In addition, if a state owned vehicle is not available for the employees' state business travel regardless of the distance, he or she shall be reimbursed at the IRS rate."
