April 20, 2015
Academic Standards Review Commission – The Commission will meet from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the State Board of Education meeting room, Education Building, 301 N. Wilmington St., Raleigh. The purpose of the meeting is to continue the Commission's comprehensive review of all English Language and Mathematics standards that were adopted by the State Board of Education under G.S. 115C-12(9c), and propose modifications to ensure that those standards meet all of the criteria listed in Section 2(c) of Senate Bill 812. NC Veterans Affairs Commission – The Commission will meet from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2050 Hull Road, Kinston, NC. The purpose of the meeting is to hold the quarterly meeting of the NC Veterans Affairs Commission which will include: NC Scholarship selection and rules change vote and updates from the NCDVA, State Veterans Cemetery and State Veterans Homes.  Please contact P. Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office – The State Youth Council will be holding their Spring Convention from 6:00 p.m. on April 24 to 1:00 p.m. on April 26 at Shell Island Resort, 2700 N. Lumina Ave, Wrightsville Beach, NC. The purpose of the conference is to hold elections for SYC officers for 2015-16, present awards for the past year and plan events for the coming year.
