RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Gardner-Webb University has awarded Neal Alexander an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. It is the highest recognition of merit from Alexander's alma mater.

Alexander has been the state's Human Resources Director since 2013. His appointment follows a 40-year career in the field.

Alexander graduated from Gardner-Webb in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

For seven years he served as Chairman of the University Board of Trustees.
