RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Victims of violent sexual crimes won't have to deal with parole hearings each year that can force them to relive the ordeal, thanks to a bill signed into law by Gov. Pat McCrory.

Under Senate Bill 675, the time between parole hearings for sex offenders is lengthened from one year to two years. The law effects certain violent sexual crimes.

Victims of crimes sometimes appear at parole hearings to argue for continued prison time.
