RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Conventional wisdom says Republicans are poised to keep control of the U.S. House of Representatives following midterm elections, but if fundraising has any correlation to intensity, Democrats are itching to take seats in the lower chamber.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reports raising $10.2 million last month, while Republicans managed to take in just $4.2 million.

Roll Call reported the numbers on Monday.

The new money leave the Democrats with $54.5 million cash on hand. Republicans are not far behind -- at $45.7 million.
