RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - She was defeated in November, but Kay Hagan isn't searching for something to do with her vast political and policy experience. Come Spring, the former U.S. senator will take a fellowship at Harvard's Kennedy School's Institute of Politics.

Hagan will be one of a handful of high-profile practitioners of politics who visit the famed university. The others include Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley and the former deputy executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Matt Lira.

Former Gov. Beverly Perdue sat for the same fellowship after she decided not to run for re-election in 2012.

The fellows will engage with Harvard students on political engagement and public service.
