Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest's statement on HB924 becoming law:

"I would like to thank my staff and the staff of the legislature, State Board of Education, and the Department of Public Instruction, as well as the financial institutions, business community and NC Council on Economic Education for the many hours of work in crafting the EPF portion of HB924. I commend the North Carolina General Assembly for passing legislation and the Governor for signing into law standards and policies that will ensure future students, prior to graduating high school, will be more financially literate and economically sound in their decision making as adults. I am excited that our Department of Public Instruction will now get to work on this full credit economics and personal finance course, and I look forward to working with my fellow State Board of Education members to ensure that the policies we create around this new course set our students and teachers up for success."
