Charlotte attorney Bill Toole, Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor, raised more than $308,000 in his first filing with the NC State Board of Elections.  This is Mr. Toole’s first statewide run for office after serving on the Belmont Town Council in Gaston County.

“We gain support every single day. We’re proud to post fundraising results that demonstrate a growing statewide political organization,” said Mr. Toole.  “Our message about better schools and education, protecting our environment, and quality healthcare is resonating with voters across North Carolina.

"Our campaign is financed 100% by individuals with 72% of them giving small donations,” said spokeswoman Christina Gibson. “We do not accept donations from super PACs.”

Mr. Toole has proposed detailed policy positions on issues ranging from cannabis to the environmental.  “We must be more active and engaged as a state on this critical environmental issue that affects roads, sewers, and agriculture. Climate change is a threat to our way of life, and we must reverse it for ourselves and the sake of future generations,” said Mr. Toole.
