Following the roll-out of Joe Biden’s Agenda for Women, Biden for President launched North Carolina Women for Biden with Ashley Biden, the daughter of Jill and Joe Biden, Special Guest Chief Justice Cheri Beasley, Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, and other women leaders to talk about what’s at stake in the upcoming election for women and North Carolinians in November.

“Make no mistake,” said Ashley Biden. “Women will decide this election, just like we elected President Obama and my father. Just like we did when we elected the most diverse congressional class in our history two years ago. It is our health care, our schools, our choice, our rights at stake. And that's why we need to fight harder than ever. We need to be the ones to step up. We have to be the ones who bring in our friends and our neighbors. And we are the ones who can win. We must remember the wisdom of the voice of a generation -- who runs the world? Girls. Women.”

"I want to thank you all so very much. As women of North Carolina, we are indeed experiencing some very challenging times around the impact of COVID-19 in our communities,” said Chief Justice Cheri Beasley. “And I want to thank you because you're not just active during election time. I want to thank you because you're always there for the people of North Carolina. You're always there helping people  know what issues are important and why they ought to care. And during this period of time, during this pandemic, and as we are compounded with issues around heightened racial tensions in North Carolina, you're still there making sure that you're the barometer of our communities all across North Carolina. And I thank you for that. I'm so grateful that you will be the ones to make sure that people know why this election is so important in 2020.”

“We need Joe Biden in the White House to be the President of the United States — when I say need, let me put extra emphasis on that,” said Secretary of State Elaine Marshall. “The next three months will be a battle for the soul of this country. We cannot let up between now and November 3rd because we know that Trump supporters will be out there in full force. We need Joe Biden to be the steady hand at the helm for the economy...Joe Biden has an unmatched record for women. Whether it's equal pay, better pay for teachers who are predominantly women, greater access to education and health care and strong domestic violence law.”

“One of the main reasons that I'm a woman for Biden is because the intimate decisions that we as women have to make about our bodies, he agrees that those decisions belong to us,” said Labor Commissioner Candidate Jessica Holmes. “I can't tell you how many working families have come to me with concerns about childcare, especially with so many schools returning, virtually. How is that single mom like how I grew up going to be able to get back to work and also have to provide childcare for their child?...Fortunately, Joe Biden has a plan for that. Donald Trump made promises in 2016 that he never made good on…there are many reasons why I'm a woman for Biden, but today my most important reason is that he will be a champion for working families.”

Women for Biden is a nationwide network working to elect Joe Biden by mobilizing women around the country to get out the vote.  In addition to the national network, Women for Biden has launched in key battleground states such as Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Arizona, reaching thousands of women.
